Spirits in Love (2)

Shapiro's process involves mixed media. Because she is so inspired by nature, Shapiro will take adventures into the woods, trails and parks where she engages with plants and draws them. These drawings then become screen prints, which she cuts and strategically sews as patterns onto the mixed media paintings. Then, she uses a layer-building approach of underlayers and overlayers of water based paints.
